De linksbuiten moet het tegenwoordig doen met spaarzame invalbeurtjes. Zo ook vandaag, waarbij hij direct zijn stempel op de wedstrijd zette. In negatieve zin.

Jesse Lingard had in de tweede helft de 1-0 gemaakt en Louis van Gaal en consorten leken dus af te stevenen op een belangrijke zege.

Terwijl Schneiderlin op doel afstoomde voor een uitstekende kans op de 2-0, gaf Memphis een onzuivere pass. Het leidde tot uiterst pijnlijk balverlies, want Diego Costa maakte luttele momenten later de 1-1. Dat was tevens de eindstand.
